"The 2012 Global Resource Investment Conference in Shenzhen provided us an opportunity to meet high quality investors interested in resource opportunities. We were very pleased with the attendance and traffic at our booth and during our main hall presentation. As well we engaged in several productive one on one meetings. We would recommend this event to any issuers seeking exposure to Asian capital to advance their projects."

Organized by NAI Interactive Ltd. and Market Edge Media Inc., the 2nd annual Global Resource Investment Conference (GRIC) was held on December 11th and 12th in Shenzhen, China. The conference is aimed to connect Asian investors with overseas resource companies and encourage more investment activities in the global market.

Based on the success of the first annual Global Resource Investment Conference last year, the conference this year created more networking, business, and education opportunities to the participants.

The conference attracted over 450 industrial, institutional, and high-net-worth individual investors from 24 locations such as mainland of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Canada, and Australia. Over 20 Canadian-listed resource companies and over 100 delegates including senior management team, investment bankers, analyst, portfolio managers, brokers, and other professionals from Canada joined the conference.

One of the highlights of the conference was the prearrangement of private meetings. Confirmed attending investors had the meeting schedule prior to the conference. Over 80 one-on-one meetings took place in 6 private meeting rooms at the conference, allowing more effective and interactive discussions.

Many investors expressed their interests. Some potential buyers include:
    China Minmetals Corp.
Centaline Wealth Management Ltd. COSCO (Hong Kong) Group Ltd.
    CITIC United Asia Investments Ltd.
Sino-Canada Natural Resources Fund(CapitalAsia Investment Holding Group)
    Far East Group of Companies
    Deutsche Bank
    Sinom Holdings Co., Ltd
    Deep Sea Capital
    China Development Bank Guangdong Branch
    Daewoo International Guangzhou Co.Ltd
    Sinozonkai Group

The conference took place days after Canada approved CNOOC-Nexen deal, which sent positive signal to other Chinese SOEs and private companies looking at resource sector of Canada. Mr. Jionghui Wang, Assistant President at China Minmetals Corp. presented “Mining Industry of Tomorrow—Global Mining Industry Outlook and Market Outlook”. Ms. Patricia Mohr, Vice-President & Commodity Market Specialist at Scotiabank talked about outlook of commodity prices, global growth and currencies in 2013-2014 as well as prospects for China and opportunities in Canada’s mining and oil industries.

Other world-class experts and professionals in the industry covered various commodities such as precious metal, uranium, copper, oil & gas and hot geological areas including Yukon and Australia.

The conference was supported by many fixtures in the global capital markets. Mr. Robert Fotheringham, Senior Vice President of Toronto Stock Exchange & TSX Venture Exchange gave the opening remarks at the opening ceremony on the first day of the conference. Zhang Budong, General Manager from Shanghai International Mining Exchange gave the opening remarks at the banquet dinner.

In addition, participants also learnt how to manage risk in the mining investment process with correct resource and reserve reporting during a International mining standards workshop sponsored by Snowden Group.

GRIC has grown to become the premier resource investment conference linking opportunities in China, Canada, U.S., Australia, and beyond. The conference will be held again next year as China continues to make tremendous progress in global resource and commodity markets. We welcome all returning and new participants to join us in 2013.
